It was so lovely to see so many of the class in their Christmas jumpers today and showing their support for Save the Children. All the sparkle and Christmas colour certainly ended another busy week on a happy, festive note.

This week we have been very busy in maths learning to measure length. We have been practising our estimating and measuring skills, learning to convert between different units of measurements, and even been busy little elves measuring the perimeter and area of Christmas cards for Santa. In problem solving we were challenged with calculating the area of wrapping paper needed to wrap Christmas parcels for Santa. This was definitely a challenge, but the class all showed perseverence and resilience in order to help out Santa.

In literacy we have put our persuasive writing skills to the test. We have written letters to Mrs Howie trying to persuade her to allow us to have an afternoon 'snuggle break' in the last week of term. We have used all our persuasive skills in an attempt to persuade her to allow us to have this special treat, so fingers crossed our letters, and our persuasive skills, have been good enough!

On Tuesday afternoon we will be watching our online pantomine. Then on Thursday 17th December we will be having our Christmas Fun Day which includes our Christmas Party. Your child should come to school dressed in their party outfits (but please remember they will be outside at break time and lunchtime so will need to have appropriate shoes and jackets for this). In the morning we will be doing Christmas fun activities in the class area and our party will be in the afternoon. Food will be provided by the school - so please let me know via Seesaw or by e-mailing the school if your child has any food allergies.

Can I please remind you to let me know if you do not wish your child to bring their worksheets home next Friday?

I hope you have a fun weekend
Mrs Haddow.
