Good afternoon
Well, here we are at the end of our first term already. It is so lovely to be back at school and into a routine again, but I think the children, and myself, are all ready for a break.
In maths this week we have been learning to give directions and set our maps. Unfortunately rain stopped play during our orienteering session. However, the children enjoyed using the Beebots  and floor maps to help support their learning.
In writing they were all very enthusiastically writing a rainforest adventure story. This was a story that included the rainforest creature they had designed themselves, and there were some very exciting stories written, with some surprising twists to them.
In social studies we have been learning about the importance of the rainforests to our daily lives and we have considered the effects of deforestation on the wildlife, plantlife and humans at both a local and a national level.
The support from the class for the Macmillan fundraiser event yesterday was fantastic. Everyone dressed down, and had fun taking part in the various activities organised by primary 6/7 and primary 7. The event was a big success, and thank you to everyone for supporting such a worthwhile cause.
Congratulations to all the pupils in Earth for all their hard work in earning house points this term. Their hard work was rewarded with a special treat this afternoon, which they all deserved.
Finally, I would just like to wish you all a wonderful holiday, and I look forward to seeing all the children again after their well earned break.
