Well this has certainly been a week unlike any other, as I'm sure you'll agree. However, in Primary 5 we got off to a brilliant start with a fabulous trip to The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre. They had a great time learning about the battle, the weapons and the armour. The children were a credit to yourselves and to the school. In writing this week we did a personal recount of the trip, and it was clear the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The 3D movie experience and the battle simulator game were particular favourites. In numeracy we were working on grouping and chunking strategies, which we are now working with quite confidently. In ICT we started to look at creating animations using ZU3D, and we had great fun making little movies with Lego men to practise some of the skills involved, and to practise using some of the features of the programme.
Your child will have brought home a home learning pack. This contains a grid of activities for them to complete over the next two weeks. They also have their Glow and Sumdog passwords inside the front covers of their jotters. Our main means of communication over the next few weeks will be through Seesaw, where you will find some of the activities referred to in the homework grid.
I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy and I look forward to seeing your children's happy, smiling faces back in class as soon as it is safe for them to return.
I wll be thinking of you all in the weeks ahead.
