This week Primary 5 have developed their skills in writing Newspaper reports by writing a report on The Battle of Stirling Bridge. They enjoyed being roving reporters, collecting the information they needed and interviewing 'characters from the event' to get quotes to include in their reports.Their reports are looking very impressive.
This week in numeracy we have focused on multiplying by tens, hundreds and thousands, the language of multiplication, and solving multi step problems. We have learned some more multiplication activities to help with learning our tables, and I would encourage you to keep working on this at home. The children are definitely beginning to realise how important this knowledge is.
The children enjoyed their judo taster session this week and were a credit to Canmore throughout. You can see them enjoying the fun on Seesaw, and details of how to find out more about lessons have also been posted on Seesaw.
We are continuing to develop our problem solving strategies, and this week we have been learning to use logical thinking. The children are enjoying the challenge of these activities, where we are focussed more on the strategy and the process than we are on the answer.
I hope you have had a good week, and enjoy your weekend.
