Busy bees in P4/5!

Hello and welcome back to Term 4!

It is wonderful to see everyone back looking refreshed and ready for the new term. This term our gym days will be Monday and Thursday and this is a reminder to pack indoor and outdoor kits in case the forecast allows us to take our learning outside! We will continue to have guitar (Primary 5 only) on a Tuesday and recorder on a Thursday. Please ensure that your child has all they need ready for the school day!

Primary 4/5 have been busy bees this week as we have explored our natural environment. We have been looking at creative descriptions and using thesaurus to up level and edit our work. We are excited to be entering a writing competition with the Scottish Book Trust around the theme bees. We have also started our entry for the school art gallery which is around a similar our environment theme. This has allowed us to look at different painting techniques and the use of sketch and line.

In numeracy, we have been familiarising ourselves with shape and lines. Looking specifically at the difference between horizontal, vertical, diagonal, parallel and perpendicular lines. We have even used this knowledge to help us with our art. We have also started looking at the 7 times tables so you can begin to test me on this!

As you can see, we are back into routine already and we are buzzing for the term ahead!
