Greetings from Primary 4/5!

It has been another busy week in the classroom and we are looking forward to having a relaxing Monday off school next week.

We have introduced our new topic ‘Animals and Me’ and we have already explored the different ways that animals and humans smell. This term we will be focusing in on our body and senses by comparing humans to a range of different animals.

As you are aware the new homework letter was sent home this week. Please ask your child for this if you have not received it. This term we will be working extra hard at our reading and this will include a trip to the local library later in the term. We have a class non-fiction and fiction reading book this term. The class enjoyed reading a Micheal Morpurgo book in Term 3 so we have decided to read another novel by this inspiring author, it is called ‘Why the Whales came.’ Our non-fiction books will focus around our new topic and these are called ‘What if you had an animal……”
This week we have looked at 'What if you had an animal nose.'

We have continued to explore shape in class, focusing on the properties of different 2d and 3d shapes. This week our challenge is to look and find different 3d shapes in our environment.

The choir members have also enjoyed performing locally on Thursday afternoon and a few members of our class have been involved with the orienteering festival. This is a super busy term as you can tell.
I hope you all enjoy the bank holiday off school on Monday.

Miss Graham
