Today's Reconnector focused on The United Nations Rights of the Child.  We looked at children's rights and responsibilities and why these are important.  The children were able to identify where they had seen children in other countries not getting their full rights and how fortunate we are.
This is in preparation for each class choosing their Rights Respecting School's class representative next week.  This group will meet every fortnight to share information about rights and responsibilities in school for all pupils.
We also talked about St.Andrew's Day and the history of this, many children had been to St.Andrew's but didn't know the background to this story.
Our Social Target this week was 'I can show kindness' and our winners were: Brody Anderson, Gael Orellana and Rylie Kelso - Well done boys!
Next week our Social Target is 'I can include others' as we take on board everyone's right to feel safe and cared for.
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy St.Andrew's Day on Monday!
