Good afternoon,
Of course the highlight of this week, no in fact the highlight of the year so far has to be our class trip to the National Museum of Scotland on Tuesday.

After travelling for what what seemed like an eternity, we arrived at the Museum and after a quick pitstop to refuel we embarked on our wonderful journey of exploration and learning.

Our first task of the day was to complete the Museum's Ancient Egyptian Trail, which saw us working in pairs to complete a series of challenges. Throughout the trail we explored the museum's three levels and discovered many Ancient Egyptian artefacts including several Sarcophagus', shabti's, toys, canopic Jars and even a replica of the Rosetta Stone which Egyptologists used to decipher the hieroglyphs. We were very interested to learn that most of the artefacts held within the museum where discovered and excavated by a Scottish man, Henry Rhind. Exploring this exhibit has given us all great inspiration for our own class Museum, which will be open on Friday 23rd June at 1:45pm and which all of you are invited to attend.

In the afternoon and after a well deserved lunch, we had the opportunity to look around the other exhibits within the museum. We chose to explore the animals, space and the inventions. We were in awe at the size and variety of animals on show in the animal exhibit and some of us were even surprised to find out which animal we weighed the same as. In the Space exhibit, we went on a journey through Space and Time and learned a little about the stars and planets and how they are formed. For most of us however our favourite exhibit was the inventions. We enjoyed testing our physical endurance, strength, reaction times and cognitive skills; completing a series of challenges and tests.

All in all we had the most wonderful experience and the best day ever!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend
