Good Afternoon

The King's upcoming Coronation has been the talk of the town here at Canmore this week and we have been very busy preparing for our celebrations.

Firstly we finished off our wonderful Coronation themed artwork of the King. We decided to show true patriotism and use the colours red, white and blue to decorate with different patterns the British Flag, before cutting out and sticking down a black silhouette of Charles' head. We decided to leave off the Crown as offically he hasn't been crowned King yet! Our artwork was greatly recieved by Mrs Howie and has been placed around our hall as decorations for the special event.

We then learned a little more about the Coronation, including what happens in the lead up and during the ceremony. We looked at pictures and videos of the special outfits both the new King and the Queen Consort will have to wear on the day and looked at pictures of the sovereigns Orb and Sovereigns sceptre that King Charles will hold whilst he is crowned. We also admired his fabulous crown, getting slightly jealous that he will get to wear such a wonderful crown on his head. So much so that we decided to create our own crowns so the we can become Kings and Queens for the day.

During outdoor learning and after learnng about how passionate Charles is for the enviroment we took our paper create crown off to the woods and used any natural materials including sticks, flowers, feathers etc that we could find to decorate our crowns. Miss Yorkston took photos and shared them on Seesaw. Don't we all look very regal?

On Friday P6 invited us to play the lawn games they have been learning about for the Coronation. It was a wonderful event and much fun was had by all. Thank you to both P6b and Miss Graham for organising.

Finally we ended the week on such a high note, with the 'Canmore School's Big Coronation Garden Party.'

We hope you have a wonderful Cornation Holiday weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday.
