Good Afternoon,

It has been a very quick week in Primary 3/4, I can’t quite believe it is Friday already!

In numeracy, we continued to extend our addition skills to 100 and 1000. We have been learning different strategies to help us solve addition problems including, adding ten and multiples of ten, and partitioning. We will continue to develop these strategies over the next few weeks.

For literacy we used the introductory clip from the movie ‘Toy Story’ as a stimulus to inspire the plan for a creative story about a time when our own toys came to life. In discussion groups we used a WAGOLL (What A Good One Looks Like) piece of text to unpick what a good piece of writing should include. We then use our planning page to write a brief plan for the beginning of our story.

We had a lot of fun practicing the Scottish Country Dance ‘Canadian Barn Dance’ during our PE Lesson on Tuesday. Despite it being a very fast paced dance, everyone picked up the steps quickly and enjoyed dancing with a partner. We look forward to practicing more and having the opportunity to join with P4 Mrs Haddow’s class the coming weeks.

In Health and Wellbeing, we completed our focus on helping our friend ‘Stinky Bob’ learn how to keep his body healthy by looking at personal hygiene. We learned that to have good personal hygiene we should wash our bodies every day, especially after exercise or sport and wash our faces every morning. We should also wear clean clothes, change our underwear daily and comb our hair. We are thrilled to share that thanks to all our wonderful teaching and helpful guide, Bob is now no longer named ‘Stinky Bob’.

The highlight of this week was receiving a very special invite from our Primary 7 classes, asking us if we would like to attend a very special ‘air show’. We had a wonderful time on Friday afternoon and want to thank P7 for allowing us to share in their learning during science.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
