Good Afternoon,
How can it be the end of the week already? I can’t quite believe how quickly it has flown by! We have had a very busy, hard working week.

It was lovely to meet with more of you and have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress at our Parent Contact evening. Thank you to all who made the time to come and speak with me.

This week in Writing we have had fun creating our stories about ‘The Troll’. We used our planning pages from last week as well as our learning about character description to help us structure our story. Miss Yorkston can’t wait to read them all.

In Numeracy this week we learned to find the numbers 10, 100 or 1000 more or less than. We used dienes materials to support us in our learning and enjoyed playing the games, more or less bingo, roll more or less and spin more or less. We also practised counting in 10s, 100s and 1000s for different given numbers.

The highlight of the week was attending the Primary 6’s ‘Big Breakfast’ morning in support of the charity MacMillan Cancer. It was wonderful to be able to all sit together, socialise and share the most important meal of the day with each other. We would like to say a massive thank you and well done to all the pupils in both Primary 6 classes for organising a truly magnificent event!

Finally this week the primary 4s  were given a very exciting opportunity to put their name forward to join the ‘Canmore Tech Team’ After a selection process and a successful interview we are pleased to announce that Maya, Mille R, Brax and Ayla have been selected. They are all looking forward to taking on this responsibility and are excited to learn lots of new things with technology to share with us. Hopefully as the year progresses more children will also be given the opportunity to join the Tech Team.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you for the last week of Term One on Monday.
P3/4 and Miss Yorkston
