Good Afternoon,

I would just like to say how lovely it was to have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress this term with some of you at Parents Night on Wednesday. It is so nice to be able to meet face to face once again and I look forward to chatting with more of you next week.

In Numeracy this week we have been learning to sequence numbers on a number line counting in 10s, 100s and 1000s. Next week we will be continuing to count in 10s, 100s and 1000s, to find numbers more and less than.

For Writing this week we started our imaginative writing focus. We used the picture of the troll and the learning strategy ‘See, Think, Wonder’ to focus our thinking into a story about the troll. We created a plan of our ideas and thought carefully about the characters, setting and plot. We are looking forward to writing our stories next week.

For IDL this week we were learning about weather instruments and how they are used to measure the weather. After working together in groups to match pictures of weather instruments to different weather types we made models of a wind vane, a rain gauge and an anemometer. We also had great fun testing each of these weather instruments during our Outdoor Learning afternoon.

Jeans for Genes Day was a great success and we would like to say a great big thank you to P4 and Mrs Haddow for organising. We loved joining in all the activities including the Jeans for Genes walkathon and designing our own hoodies.

We hope everyone enjoys the PTA Summer Fete this evening and has a wonderful weekend.

P3/4 and Miss Yorkston
