Good Morning
I can’t quite believe that we have come to the end of our last full week of Term 3, next week we will enjoy a shorter week. We will also enjoy a few special afternoons with different celebrations.
As you are aware we have been very busy this term learning all about the Vikings. We can’t wait to invite you to attend our open afternoon on Wednesday 27th March at 1:45pm to 2:45pm to share our learning with you all. We will start with a special dance and music performance alongside Primary 3/4 then afterwards we will retreat to the classroom area where we will give you a tour of our classroom, showcasing all of our learning.

This week we have been very busy preparing behind the scenes. We explored themes of Viking fashion, jobs, writing and how and why they travelled. We then linked our artwork, reading, writing and IDL to these themes. In literacy we have been learning to skim and scan different Non -fiction text types to find the main/key information and gained skills in note taking. We then used these notes to create many different informational posters which we will have displayed next Wednesday in our museum.

In numeracy, we have continued to focus on multiplication and division and discovered the link between these. We have also learned the concepts of sharing and grouping to help solve division questions. As I mentioned at parent evenings, I am encouraging pupils to continue to do extra homework, focusing on the 2, 5-, 10-, 3- and 4-times tables to ensure we are quickening our mental recall of these fact families.  Topmarks has wonderful interactive games that can help support your child with this learning.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to our final week of term next week.
