Good afternoon,
We have had a jam-packed week, with lots of new and enjoyable learning experiences and highlights.

We had a fantastic STEM focused morning linked to our outdoor learning, for our Sharing the Learning session on Tuesday morning, in which we were very excited and honoured to share with our adults. We worked together with our peers and adults to problem solve and create a 3d model of a nest for the birds using natural materials we collected from our school grounds. We all had lots of fun learning what it is like to be a bird and having to build a nest to live in. We hope you enjoyed the experience with us and enjoyed viewing the photos on Seesaw of our fantastic, finished nests.

Our STEM focus for learning, continued after break on Tuesday when we were given the amazing opportunity to participate in a Knex challenge from Bright Green Hydrogen. Once again, this challenge saw us working in small groups to create another 3d model, this time of a solar powered car out of Knex. Again, Miss yorkston was proud of how well we all worked together to problem solve and how we showed great resilience especially with some of the trickier parts.

On Wednesday, we were excited that our long-awaited performance at the Fife Festival of Music had finally arrived. We performed three pieces which reflected our School values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience and everyone did an amazing job at showcasing our musical skills.      We truly were the best performance of the morning. We would like to thank Mrs Baxter for coming along to support us during both our rehearsals and on Wednesday.

In Numeracy we have continued to focus on subtraction. Most of us have looked at using the empty number line method to support subtraction of a teens and a 2-digit number, with some of us using dienes to support us. We have been focussing on counting back in tens and ones and are beginning to show increasing confidence in using these strategies to help us solve problems within our subtraction.

We hope you have enjoyed this week as much as we have. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
