Good Afternoon,
I can’t quite believe that we have come to the end of the last full week before the end of term and what a truly festive week it has been.
A real highlight of the week was supporting the P1 Nativity, alongside P2 and P3/4 as the main choir. We tried our very best to put on a great performance singing the songs we have been learning over the past few weeks in class, although it was very difficult not to become distracted by the absolutely fabulous performance on stage by our P1 friends. Massive congratulations P1 and to Mrs Davie for another truly wonderful Nativity.
Another festive highlight was our delicious Christmas Lunch on Wednesday. We had fun sharing in our Christmas treats as a whole class.

Elsewhere in our learning, on Monday we focused our literacy learning on using capital letters and full stops correctly in our sentences. In our big writing activities Miss Yorkston has noticed that more and more of us are forgetting the rules for using capital letter, so after a brief recap (capitals at the start of a sentence, for proper nouns and the Pronoun I ) we had a go at editing and correcting Miss Yorkston’s sentences to include the capital letters in the correct places.

In numeracy, we pulled all our learning in addition together to finish off with an assessment to demonstrate of skills and we are feeling more confident in using the partitioning strategy when adding to 100.

Next week we will enjoy a shorter week and look forward to even more festive fun, including sharing our new board games with P3/4, our Christmas party being on Wednesday morning and singing Christmas Carols around the Christmas tree.

Wishing you a very festive weekend.
