Good afternoon,

What an exciting week we have had.

We are continuing to work on our place value in Numeracy and have explored counting on in 10s and 100s. Some children have worked beyond 1000.

In social studies we looked at extreme weather with a focus on snow. The children enjoyed finding out about blizzards.

We managed to get absolutely soaked during our PE slot where we were playing rounders in small teams. We will go into bigger teams next time and hopefully we won't get rained off!

There were lots of happy faces during our Natural Connections. We made impressions of leaves, twigs, etc onto clay and then managed to make a clay bowl each. We finished the afternoon with making clay faces in the trees. They had great results. I hope you enjoyed the photos on Sesesaw.

I think the highlight of the week was the Queen coming to join us for our Jubilee lunch. It was so nice to see the joy on the children's faces. A little magic goes a long way!

We had great fun today when we went outside for our Jubilee picnic. The children enjoyed their picnic goodies and they were able to play outdoors with the P2 and P2/3 classes. They were very good at musical statues. I couldn't see any of them moving when they froze!
The all looked amazing in their red, white and blue. Queen Shearer from the Orkney Islands had a great day with the class. The children really joined in and showed great respect by bowing/curtsying and making sure they never turned their backs to the queen. Thank you P3 for making it such a fun day.

I hope you all have a really great holiday weekend and that you enjoy any Jubilee events you are attending. The weather forecast is good (at the moment!) so have a sunny, happy long weekend.
Miss Shearer
