Good afternoon,

We continued developing our verbs and I was impressed with the choice of verbs the children thought of to include in written tasks.

In our Social Sciences, we looked at the water cycle (evaporation, condensation & precipitation) and were amazed to find out that the water we use is the same water the dinosaurs drank and that clouds weigh several tonnes!

We have looked at the different clouds that form and used our cloud viewfinders to see the different clouds we get in Dunfermline....they found that we get a lot of Nimbus ones here!

We sequenced the water cycle in our Big Writing.

Our numeracy tasks are looking at quarter to and past and also looking at 5 minute intervals.

In our Bounce Back session we looked at 'fairness.' I shared out some sweets very unfairly and the children were able to say how it felt to get 1 when others got 30. They were able to sort out the sweets so that everybody got a fair amount.

We are developing our tennis skills during our outdoor PE on Wednesdays.

The children have designed some lovely rain pictures in our art today ... just in case we forget what it looks like.

The highlight of the week has to be our Natural Connections on Wednesday afternoon where the children were given large plastic bags and had to make them fly like a parachute. It was so, so nice to hear their laughter as they zoomed around the field. The children were amazing and really used great team skills and problem solving when the bag started to tear. We were lucky to share the field with 5 other classes and is was just so lovely to be part of so many children learning outdoors and having fun.

There was a message sent home to all parents saying how important it is for the children to wear school uniform on days we don't have PE. School PE kits should be worn on our Wednesday/Thursday PE days also.
Just a reminder children should have water only in water bottles.

I hope the sun is going to shine for the weekend.
Have a really great weekend.
Miss Shearer
