Good afternoon to you all.

It is great to be back and wonderful to have the children back for a busy Term 4. What a really fast year it has been.

We started the week with the organised Easter Event.  The children had great fun and I was very impressed with the organisational skills of the P6 girls, Emily, Olivia and Katie who ran the event. Thank you to the PTA and Tesco for the Easter Egg prizes, I had 2 very happy children who won the eggs for team spirit and good manners.

We were outside for our PE on Monday thanks to the lovely weather and the children worked in teams to create circuits that would ensure all members were active.

We have worked on Problem Solving Skills in Numeracy with a focus on working with a partner taking turns and using listening skills. The children had to work using a pattern/sequence to ensure they completed tasks.

We are working on daily writing tasks to up-level our writing skills in preparation for the move to P4.

We looked at the 'wh' digraph for our Jolly Phonics and ensured we can hear the difference between w and wh.

The children really enjoyed investigating the life cycle of a butterfly.

For our Big Writing, we wrote a senses poem using our school environment for stimulus. I have uploaded their results on Seesaw for you to see. I am very impressed with their results.

We have made lovely daffodil pictures in Art and will create a wall display using their writing and the completed pictures. I will upload a picture on Seesaw when it has been completed.

Change of PE slot
Our PE will now be Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please come to school on these days in appropriate kit suitable for indoor or outdoor lessons.
We will also be doing Outdoor Learning (Natural Connections) on Wednesday afternoons could the children come with welly boots if wet weather or suitable footwear to change into for better weather days. These are better being in a separate bag that can be hung on peg ready to change into. If there are any parents who would like to support us outside on a Wednesday afternoon could you please get in touch with me via Seesaw?  Much appreciated.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend (hopefully with some sunshine)
Miss Shearer
