Good afternoon everybody,

What a glorious week of beautiful Spring sunshine there has been. The children are enjoying getting back on to the field at lunchtimes to enjoy the good weather with their friends. Long may it last!

We have completed our fractions targets and are using our problem solving skills working in pairs to solve a 'shapes into suitcase' activity. There are many combinations so we will take a few days to see if we can solve it.

We went on a 'signs of Spring walk' on Tuesday and for our Big Writing we have used what we saw to write a lovely Spring themed story.

We researched the Sphinx and solved the riddles. It is an incredible statue and is was fascinating to see how they built it from top down to the bottom.

We were very lucky to have Mr Grew from the HSBC bank in on Wednesday to talk about finances. I think in the current climate, it is good to start early to learn about budgeting and savings. I was very proud of the children as they sat beautifully and asked very sensible questions. I think their favourite parts were the Duck, Duck, Goose and Simon Says games!

Today we have drawn a Scarab Beetle using a stimulus from the ancient Egyptian times. I hope you like the results.

I have sent home the original drawings from the Courier's Draw Your Mum entries as I am sure you would want to keep them.

Could I please have all homework and reading books/folders back on Monday please as I won't be giving homework tasks next week as the Easter Holidays are almost here! I cannot believe that we are at the end of Term 3 already.

Have a really nice weekend.
Miss Shearer
