Good afternoon everybody.
We started the week with our weekend news and a focus on Capital letters and full stops.
We continued with our running club in our outdoor P.E which will help to build the children's stamina as well as cooperation and resilience skills. We also completed some teams laps with a baton. The children were encouraged to beat their own teams times as the laps progressed.
We are still looking at toys from the past and present. Thank you so much for all the junk modelling for our marble runs. It would be great if you could still send in any tubes you have available over the next few weeks as they will make very good tunnels for the marbles to roll through.
Every child has had their reading book sent home to share with you. Could they please return them by Monday as the books are changed on a Monday after school? Thank you in advance.
In Numeracy we have continued to look at place value by splitting our Hundreds, Tens and Ones. Our place value song has taught the children that 'patterns never end'.
We have worked on the magic'e' with the 'a' this week. The children are learning that the 'e' changes the vowel from its sound to its name. (Magic 'e' makes the 'a' say 'ay')
I introduced 'Chaz the Concentrating Chimp'  learning style to explain the need to focus and concentrate when working. It worked really well for our Big Writing this week. The children all did their best to stay focused while re-telling the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. I hope you enjoy seeing their excellent results on Seesaw.
Our Art today was creating paper dolls with the tabbed clothes. We are keeping these to use in class but the children will get them home nearer the end of term.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Miss Shearer
