Good afternoon everybody.
It has been really good getting back into a routine this week. The children have settled in very nicely and started the week with their weekend news and Discovery Time. They are showing good working together skills and continue to be good at tidying up after themselves.
In Numeracy, we are continuing to explore place value and are learning to separate tens and ones and have looked at before, after and in-between.
We are looking at the correct size and formation of letters in handwriting and ensuring they are on the line or below the line.
We are looking at toys from the past and are comparing them with present day toys during our topic work.
In our Big Writing, we used our imaginations to take Buster (our class pet) on an adventure. He really does like to eat! The children are working on using full stops, capital letters and finger spaces as well as adding exciting words.
The children enjoyed being outdoors for PE and were able to make a circuit with their team from equipment supplied to them. It was a very hot day but we did find enough shade for them to carry out their activities.
For our outdoor learning we created hopscotch games using 2D shapes.
Our PE slot is changing from a Wednesday to a Monday.
Our 2 slots then are now Mondays and Thursdays. Please ensure children come dressed in appropriate PE kit on these days. Thankyou.
We are collecting junk modeling so that we can create a marble run later on in the term. Please send in any cardboard tubes, small boxes, bottle tops, egg boxes, etc that you have available. Thank you for the items already sent in. It is greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend.
Miss Shearer
