Good afternoon,

This has been a very quick week with the children continuing to work on fractions. We are concentrating on halves, quarters and whole fractions and looking at how to share parts of shapes and amounts equally.

In our literacy tasks, we are working on extending our sentences by addidng adjectives to make them more exciting.

Our phonics this week looked at plurals by using s or es. The children are consolidating this skill for homework. There are some tasks on Seesaw to help with this skill.

The children are using their prediction skills in our reading by looking at the cover, and blurb if their book has one, to make a good, informed guess as to what their story might be about.

We have created beautiful pictures for the Mother's Day Special that the Courier will be publishing shortly. I will let you know when they inform us what day they are to be printed.

World Book Day was a lovely day with the children coming in dressed in jammies, or dressed down and we had a lot of fun reading our favourite books as well as discussing what they like/dislike about reading. The Book Swap was a sucess and I hope it is something we can do again.

For art, we are continuing to work on our sarcophagus's and mummies.

Science was very exciting with the children wanting to explore Can a Boiled Egg Bounce? We will let you know next week when the experiment is complete.

Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Shearer
