Good afternoon to you all.

It is good to be back and the children are working hard to get back into our routines again.

In numeracy we have completed our symmetry topic. The children have created some really tricky symmetrical patterns by drawing houses, flowers and characters as well as using shapes and numbers.

Our outdoor learning used team skills to draw circles as far apart as they could but ensuring all children could jump from one circle to the next with feet together. It was great to see how far some of the groups were able to go.

Our Big Writing is all about 'Myself' and next week we are going to change some of the words into Scots language. It will be interesting to see what words they will use.

I have sent home a copy of our Scots poem Twa -Leggit Mice by J K Annand for the children to memorise for our Poetry Competition. I will be picking 3 finalists on Monday the 24th January.

Reading and spelling homework will be sent home on Tuesdays to be returned the following Monday.
PE days are Mondays and Thursdays.

I would appreciate any junk modelling that you are able to send in. The children are being very creative and some of them are very busy creating a restaurant during their Discovery Learning sessions and they would like boxes etc to make their card machines, shopping tills etc.

I hope you all have a great weekend.
Miss Shearer
