P3 have been busy rehearsing their songs for the music festival. They have made Egyptian collars to wear on the day. The children used small glue lids and q tips to print patterns onto their collars. They look very effective.

The children continue to build up their stamina during our block of fitness in PE.

The class are continuing to develop their understanding of subtraction in maths. They are learning further new strategies to support them and are working with more complex problems. It's super to see so many children growing in confidence. They are realising that using materials or a hundred square/number line to assist helps them to visualise how to solve the problem.

The class had a special visitor in our class during our writing session. They were learning to write a description that included Scottish words. The visitor was very impressed with the children's understanding of their individual writing targets. She enjoyed reading their work and listening to their ideas.

Our topic this week focused on the Pharoah Tutankhamun. The children had to research him and take note of the most important information about him.

Our school social target this week is, 'I can come to school well presented wearing school uniform.' Mrs Howie has spoken to the children during assembly and has reminded them of our expectations regarding uniform.

Can I also remind you that all children should wear their full school uniform, including a tie, to the music festival on Tuesday. Thank you.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Mrs Thomson
