It has been another busy and interesting week in P3.

On Monday, the boys and girls were excited to find an Elf doorway in the classroom. It was from an Elf called Bushy Evergreen. He had written a letter telling the children that he would be visiting next week if the class demonstrated the school values through the week. So we could have a little visitor on Monday!

The class also made envelopes for our kindness advent calendar. Every day a diferent child opens an envelope and reads out an act of kindness for the class to do that day. For example, giving someone a compliment or asking a child to join in with a game.

In .PE we practised the Canadian Barn Dance for our party and are getting really good at it. We warmed up with the Les Mill's Avengers routine.

We continued to listen to Alma and the Magic Yoyo for our class novel and worked on our prediction skills. We wrote in our jotter what we think would happen next in the story.

For writing, the children wrote a letter to Santa. They had to include a couple of things they would like including a description of them. They also had to explain why they had been good and some questions about Santa.

In maths, we have continued to work on addition skills. The children are learning to split tens and ones numbers so they can add the tens and then the ones. One group have been working on several small numbers. The children have been shown how to use materials and the hundred square to support their thinking if required.

Thank you to everyone who came to support the Christmas Fayre today. The children worked very hard on their crafts and were delighted to find that their stall had sold out. We made approximately £112 which is amazing!

Have a lovely weekend. Mrs Thomson
