We have been practising different kinds of moving as part of a gymnastics block in P.E. As the children have been demonstrating skill and control, they were allowed to move onto the larger apparatus today. Benches and gym tables were added to benches, hoops and mats. The children had to incorporate different types of movement through the equipment. They were able to show agility and creativity with their sequences.

In Literacy, we have been learning about nouns and the children were able to correctly use nouns in different sentences.

The children listened and responded to the chapter 'Dark is Kind' from the Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark' in Literacy this week. They then discussed and shared a time when someone was kind to them. After the discussion, they used the experience in a personal story for their writing.

We are continuing to work on numbers up to 1,000. Some children have been counting in sequences of 10 and 100. Other children have been working on numbers 1/2 more/less.

As part of our project, the children have been learning about what a weather forecast is. They discussed the weather keywords they had heard in a real weather forecast that we watched in class. The children then worked in pairs to plan and write their own weather forecast. They worked really hard and co-operated well in their pairs. Mrs Greig is looking forward to hearing them being presented on Tuesday.

I hope the children have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards, Mrs Thomson
