Good afternoon everyone,

Primary three have completed their first full week of this session and have worked very hard.

They started the week by listening to the beginning of the book, 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse. It is a book about kindness, accepting yourself as you are and always trying your best.

For writing the children watched a You Tube clip called 'Pay it Forward.' They had to look out for all the different ways people were being kind in the clip. The children then talked about times where they had been kind or when others were kind to them. They then used these ideas to write a short poem called, 'Kindness.'

For health and wellbeing today, the children listened to a story called 'Silly Billy.' It was about a boy who learned that sharing his worries made him feel a lot better. The children made worry monsters to take home and know they can use them to verbalise any worries before they explain them to an adult who can then support them with their feelings.

In maths this week, the children have been revising numbers to 20 or 100 and mental addition and subtraction.

Can I remind you to ensure your child's name is on all their clothing. I managed to reunite a few cardigans with their owners this week but one or two had to be sent to the lost property because they were nameless. Also, a quick reminder that children are not allowed to bring toys (hard or soft), sticky notes or notebooks into school in order to minimise the amount of property being brought in from home. Thank you for your understanding.

Finally, Mrs Greig and I will begin to add items to Seesaw from next week so you can see what the children are learning.

Have a lovely weekend. Kind regards, Mrs Thomson
