Good afternoon everyone.

The highlight of this week was getting our class photo done yesterday. All the boys and girls looked extremely smart in their school uniforms.

This week the children have been continuing to learn about money. They have had the opportunity to give change from 50p, total amounts of money up to £5 and to list coins needed to make different amounts up to £5. Next week they will be working on giving change from £1.

For project, reading and writing this week the children have been learning about Ancient Egyptian farming. The children watched a short clip on the subject. We then discussed and recorded what they knew about Egyptian farming. The children then suggested questions about farming that we could then research to help us find out more about the subject. The children worked in pairs to research a chosen question then everyone fed back their findings to the class. Using the class notes and a writing frame, the children then wrote a short factual report about Egyptian farming. This was a challenging sequence of lessons but the children made a super job of it and we have learned a lot of new information after reading their reports.

We hope you all have a fun and relaxing holiday weekend. It looks like we will be lucky with the weather.

Kind regards,
Mrs Greig & Mrs Thomson
