Good afternoon,

It was lovely to be back in class this week with the boys and girls.

In Literacy, the children listened to another story about Amelia Jane, the mischievous doll. They learned how to sequence the main ideas of the chapter and decided which facts about the story were true or false.

For Writing this week, the children listened to the story of Little Red Riding Hood. They made a mind map of adjectives and key ideas linked to the story and they are going to use it as a plan to help them write a re-telling of the story next week.

In Numeracy, the children were continuing to explore and use different strategies to help them solve addition problems.

Project this week involved learning about the history of teddy bears. The children were also introduced to the forces of push, pull and twist. They had to look at different toys and decide what forces they would use to make that toy work or move. They organised their thinking using a table.

I enjoyed seeing the finished results of the children's Art lesson this week. They were drawing their own teddy bears using pastels. The children could choose any colours and designs that they wished. The results are super and every picture is completely different. The pictures are going to make a wonderful display.

Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards
Mrs Thomson
