Happy New Year to you all. It's great to be back and the children are already in full flow ready for a busy Term 3.
We are working on our subtraction in numeracy and have written all about their holidays. Santa appears to have been very good to them all!
The children have written their New Year Resolutions for 2020 and have chosen a variety of skills they want to work on in school and have thought about some for home as well. (There's going to be a lot of tidy bedrooms!!)
PE will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Can we please ensure they all have appropriate kit - dark shorts and white t-shirts and that all long hair is tied back? (remember socks for those who are changing out of tights)
The children have welcomed a new girl into our class and have helped her settle in really well.
Homework for the next few weeks will be learning the Sair Finger by Walter Windgate in preparation for our Burns Assembly. The children will need to be prepared to share the poem to their class on Monday the 20th January. Mrs Howie will listen to three finalists on the 24th and one person will then be chosen to recite their poem to the whole school on the 25th of January at assembly. This is a great experience for the children to develop their talking skills and I look forward to hearing them all using their expression, pace and volume together with a wee bit of performing skills.
Have a wonderful weekend.
