Good afternoon everybody.
Thank goodness the sun has appeared again! I hope you all get the chance to enjoy a bit of it.
We have completed our fractions targets and will start other Numeracy concepts next week.
The children know quite a lot of different facts about Viking Gods and looked at the 'Up Helly Ha' festival that takes place yearly in Shetland.
We explored the 'air' trigraph for our phonics and were able to find a variety of words that used this sound.
We will continue with our outdoor leaning next week when the field area dries up a bit.
Our outdoor P.E on Mondays will be team sports (football, rounders, etc)
We looked at how to have healthy teeth as part of our HWB and all the factors that ensure we keep our teeth healthy and strong so they last us into old age.
For our Big Writing this week, we looked at a photo of a flying house and used our imaginations to write a story of where we would go if our house was to sprout wings and fly away somewhere. We are focusing on using joining words (and, but, because, etc) to join two short sentences together.
Our sports day was a real success. I overheard one of the children saying 'That was the best sports day ever.' It was so nice to hear their happy voices and to watch them having such good fun as well as showing their good sportsmanship. Thank you so much Mrs Hay for organising.
I hope you all have a really great weekend.
Miss Shearer
