Good afternoon to you all.
I can't believe how quickly the weeks are disappearing!
The children have been working very hard on their fraction skills and are looking at fractions of things as well as shapes. They have explored the 'ss' sound and came up with very good lists of words containing this pattern.
They have been writing using the Viking runes alphabet and were able to write their own name using the runes. They looked very different from the English language we normally use. They also designed their own Viking shield and came up with lovely creations.
We looked at road safety in our HWB and learned a rap to help them remember the Stop, Look, Listen and Think strategy.
They were all superheroes in our Big Writing this week and came up with great names for themselves, adding details on their outfits, describing their superpowers and who their arch enemies were.
We are introducing extra Discovery Learning time for the children to enhance their learning through play. Some of them chose to make some amazing creative items that they will bring home on Friday. Others used the Lego to make homes for the dinosaurs. It has been great to observe their cooperation, collaboration, social skills and listen to their discussions on sharing their learning with their peers.

I hope you have a really lovely weekend.
