Good afternoon to you all.
I can't believe how quickly the weeks are flying by. It is so good to be back in school and it is great to see the children settling in to our routines.
We have planned and made our own outdoor fitness circuits and were able to go round each teams circuits to see if we could follow other teams ideas to keep fit. On Monday we were down on the field for our Outdoor Learning and used clay to make faces ion the trees. The children really enjoyed using the clay and thought of different ways to add arms/legs/etc.
We have made creatures for the sea part of our wall display and used scale to make sure they were the correct size for the available space. We now have whales, dolphins, fish, seahorses to name a few of the great variety they have thought of.
In maths, we are looking at patterns/sequences and symmetry by looking for the 'rule' We will continue with this next week.
The children used their imaginations for Big Writing to be a creature that lives in the sky/air and we have lovely stories about eagles, ladybirds, butterflies, etc.
We took part in an outdoor search for red noses. It was great fun and we were so lucky to be out in the beautiful sunny weather. The children also used charcoal to create a still life picture of a tree. They enjoyed the blending/smudging to create lovely effects.
It was great fun to take part in Red Nose Day and we would like to thank the P4's and Mrs Heggie for organising the outdoor event for us.
I hope the weather stays nice for you all for the weekend.
Have a lovely relaxing time.
Miss Shearer
