Good afternoon everybody.
It is so nice to be back at school. I am so happy to be back face to face with your wonderful children. I have sent you some pictures on Seesaw of the happy, smiley faces of your children. They are so happy to be back with their friends.
I have had various reconnecting sessions this week to let the children get a chance to catch up with their classmates. I can tell you that on Monday some of the girls talked for 45 minutes (non-stop) in a group as they were so happy to see each other!
I am so impressed with their eagerness to learn and their ability to get back into a routine again.
We have consolidated multiplication in Maths and will look at division next week to make sure we are all at appropriate levels. They really have worked so hard to complete all the tasks I have set them.
They wrote beautiful shape poems in our Big Writing slot about daffodils, lambs, bunnies or chicks to create a really nice Spring wall display. They used similes to make them more interesting.
We have classified amphibians, reptiles, insects, mammals, birds and fish. Some of them found it amusing that we are in same group as elephants and bears!
In I.T we have used Sumdog as we have got an extended trial to use all the games. The Fife Challenge starts Friday 26th so please feel free to encourage the children to take part.
The children are bringing home their cloud dough that we made in Science this afternoon. I hope they have fun playing with it. (It is not as messy as slime)
In Art we made daffodils, hyacinths and tulips to brighten up our class area. I am so pleased that Spring is just around the corner!
Our P.E days are Monday and Thursday. Reading books are to be sent home next week. They will come home on Tuesdays and need to be returned by Mondays as they will go into quarantine for 72 hours before other children can use them.
I hope you have a really great weekend.
Miss Shearer
