Good afternoon to you all. I just cannot believe we are so close to the end of term. The days are speeding by far too quickly!
I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend and got to see some of the sun.
We have been working on coordinates this week in Numeracy and the children have really enjoyed making their own treasure maps and thought of good questions about plotting and reading the coordinates on their maps.
We completed a quiz on the Vikings and the children have been learning how to answer crosswords. It has helped to really get them thinking about how important it is to spell words correctly to help solve all the clues.
Our Big Writing used a photo stimulus and the children came up with really good story ideas using the picture to help their imaginations to flow.
Thee Wee Crafters are almost ready for their sale of goods next Wednesday the 16th of June. The children have been asked to bring in 50p or £1 coins as we are not able to give change. There are some lovely crafts available for the P1-P3's to purchase.(Pom-Pom birds, key rings, chocolate spoons @ 50p and beaded bracelets and facecloth teddy/puppies @ £1) All items will have been quarantined for 72 hours before being handed over in individual plastic bags. Thank you in advance for your support. I am very impressed with the dedication of the children who have used their Discovery Learning time to make the goods. They are a real credit to you and Canmore School.
Have a great weekend.
Miss Shearer
