We have had another busy week in P2/3. The children have been enjoying weekly Yoga sessions with Mrs Greig. This week they were doing Pokemon Yoga which the children loved. They were very focused on getting into their positions correctly.

The children have also completed an imaginative story about a magic globe. The characters in the story visited lots of interesting countries around the world and had lots of adventures. It has been fun reading them all.

In Maths, the children have been learning about grid references and giving directions. They worked in pairsĀ and followed instructions to help their pirate find their belongings in the grid. As they were working they learned to use the directions forward, backwards, left, right and a quarter turn.

In our Social Sciences work, Flat Stanley arrived in the continent of Africa. The children have learned about a young girl's life in the capital of Ethiopia and have compared it to the life of a girl in Edinburgh. They found there were many differences but also many similarities between their lives.

I hope you have an enjoyable long weekend. It will be a short school week for the children. However, they will be looking forward to Sports day on Thursday. We will also compare a school in Africa to a school in the UK and will learn about compass points in Maths.
