Good afternoon everyone,

The children have been given their Christmas card design and order form home today. If you would like to order cards then please follow the instructions on the form. You should then send the card and form back into school as the original art work needs to be sent away to be printed. The children worked really hard on their cards and I think they have made a fantastic job.

Our book focus this week was called 'Silly Billy.' The children had the opportunity to discuss and write about the book's main idea. Billy used to worry about lots of things so his Gran gave him worry dolls. This meant he could share his worries with them. During discovery learning, many of the children made their own worry dolls from wooden spoons and other materials.

For writing this week, we continued to focus on personal writing. The children discussed a situation where they had felt worried and how the worry was sorted. They then drew a picture of the situation and wrote about it.

In Maths this week, we recapped how to place numbers on an empty number line with all the intervals marked. We also looked at estimating where a number should go on a number line when only some intervals were marked. We also completed some work on pattern using shapes and colour.

As always, it has been a busy and productive week in Primary 2/3. All the boys and girls have worked very hard. They really are superstars.

Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards, Mrs Thomson and Mrs Greig.
