Good afternoon everyone,

The children have made a start on their Picasso inspired blue portraits. They thought carefully about the shape of the face and eyes. Once they had added the other facial features, the children drew over their pencil lines with thick crayons. This will stop any paint bleeding from one area of their picture to another. Next week, the children will paint the different parts of their face with various shades of blue.

We continued to focus on personal writing in Literacy this week. The class watched a story called 'Kindness is my Superpower' and then discussed all the ways that the boy had been kind. The children then talked in small groups and spoke about a time when they had demonstrated kindness. Some of these experiences were shared with the whole class. The children then drew a picture of a time when they had been kind then wrote a story to explain what they did.

For Numeracy this week, the children practised finding the smallest and biggest numbers, ordering numbers and counting in steps of 2, 3, 4 and 5. We are going to revisit counting in steps of different amounts in a few sessions time as it needs explored further.

Can I just remind everyone to check that they have chosen their child's lunch for next week on i-payimpact. There is also a choice for packed lunches if that is what your child is choosing to have. Thank you.

I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend.

Kind regards, Mrs Thomson and Mrs Greig.
