Happy New Year.  We wish you and your families a very happy and healthy 2019.  Last term was very busy for P2/3 in the run up to Christmas.  We enjoyed having a mini enterprise where we made wooden tree decorations and hot chocolate reindeers.  Our company was very successful and all products sold out at the Christmas Fayre.  We worked very hard with Freddie Fox to learn all about Living Things and particularly enjoyed our work on mini beasts.  Mrs Greig and Mrs Thomson loved looking at the Enchanted Forests in the shoe boxes made as part of our homework.  This all complimented the excellent learning in literacy and numeracy too.

However, that was so last term!  Term 3 has arrived and we are all raring to go (well once we get over the shock of being back at school)!  We have so much to look forward to this term.  We are going to the Music Festival so we will be practising in class and with Mrs Baxter the music specialist.  The date will be Wednesday 30th January so if you were able to come and support us at Carnegie Hall we would love that.   Our topic this term will be Castles and already the children are so excited about the topic.  We will be learning lots about Castles and gathering information from a variety of sources. We are hoping to arrange a visit to Stirling Castle this term.  Soon we will also be starting our Creative Dance in our  gym time which we will hope to show to our families later in the term.

Finally, we are creating a visual Memory Box in class where we will gather pictures, tickets, thoughts or other examples of things that are happening in school or at home.  We would appreciate your support in this.  We will reflect on this at the end of Term.

On a final note can we make a plea for gym kits to be in for Mondays and Wednesdays please.  Some children are regularly not bringing a kit to school.  Homework is handed out on Tuesdays and is to be returned on a Monday.  Thanks for your support.
