Good afternoon everybody.

What a busy week we have had!

We are nearly at the end of our division topic. It would be good for the children to continue practising their 2x, 5x and 10x tables.

We learned the ie digraph this week and discussed plurals and singular words. The children very very enthusiastic to write as many words as they could in their WfL jotters.

As part of our Farms and Farming topic, we researched cows and we were amazed at how amazing cows are. Please ask your child to tell you what they learned about this amazing animal. We are very excited to be seeing some cows and calves next week on our farm visit. All children have said that they want to see if the calves will lick their fingers.

One of our Drawing Club sessions was writing all these facts. I will enjoy sharing their writing with you on parent contact nights.

The children produced lovely cow pictures imitating the style of Steve Brown.

Thank you to Arran's grandad for coming in to share his book with all the children at reconnector this morning. We have children who would like to be authors in the future.

We have almost all the costumes ready for our Chicken Licken show. The children are really excited and can't wait to share their show with you. I will upload other details after the farm visit.

Our farm visit is next Wednesday 15th. We leave very promptly in the morning so please arrive to school on time (I will take children in a little early to ensure we have plenty of time to go to toilet and then to change into our welly boots) Please have all welly boots in a carrier bag in school by Monday please so we can check that everybody has a pair to wear. We are not taking water bottles or snack with us and no gloves are allowed. The forecast looks like it will still be quiet cold so please ensure all children are wearing a suitable waterproof jacket and hat. All boots will be hosed down as we leave the farm and when we return to school they will go back in carrier bag to be taken home.

I will update next week about our show times etc.

I look forward to meeting you at Parent Contact.

Have a lovely weekend... hopefully we have escaped the worst of the snow!
Miss Shearer
