Good afternoon everybody,

What a busy productive week of learning we have had.

In Numeracy, we are continuing to look at place value with numbers before/after and are using Numicon, number lines and number squares to help us recognise numbers and place our tens and ones in correct order. The children are practising to count verbally in 5's, 10's and ones.

Our blends this week were ch and sh and we looked out for words in our reading and story books to see if we could see or hear any words with these sounds.
For Drawing Club, we looked at clips from the Wacky Races and designed a mascot and then our own car that could take place in the race. The children then wrote about their inventions. What great ideas they came up with.

We discussed the need for shelter, food and air for animals and humans. They compared what the similarities and differences are between them.

The children used a small ball this week at outdoor PE to reinforce their catching and throwing ball skills. We took part in a Cosmic Yoga session due to the rainy weather.  The children really watched/listened to all of the instructions so carefully.

For Outdoor Learning, the children made really lovely 'pictures in frames' using natural resources. They were really creative and used a variety of resources they found .... stones, feathers, berries, twigs, sand, etc. We then took part in a listening activity that had the children using their senses and finding big/small items. We finished with a roll down the hill which was really great fun!  There were several children who came without coats and it did rain so could I please ask that all children have coats, boots and suitable warm clothing. Please use old clothing as we do get a bit dirty outdoors.

We are making our Christmas Cards (sorry for mentioning the C word so soon!) but we do need to get them ready to send off to get printed.

It was so nice to meet the parents that were able to make it today to look around our teaching area.

Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Shearer
