We have been working really hard in Primary 2 and are almost ready for our mid term break next week!
In Literacy, we have been looking at finding true or false statements in a text and making sentences of our own which are either true or false.  We are still concentrating on writing in sentences with finger spaces, connectives and interesting descriptive words. Check out our Seesaw page to hear how our writing is going from the children.  We looked back at our writing from the beginning of Primary 2 and are very proud of how much progress we are making.
In Numeracy, we have been working on subtraction within 20 using lots of different methods to help with the calculations.  We have started to use ten frames which makes calculating problems much quicker!  We have also been looking at 2D and 3D Shape, understanding the properties of these and if we can find these in our environment during Outdoor Learning on Friday.
We are really enjoying our project about Castles and have been learning about different castles and the parts of these.  We now know why they had a drawbridge and a portcullis to prevent attacks.  We also learned why their window slits were so narrow and why castles had battlements.
We have been learning about Safer Internet Week and Children's Mental Health Week so we know how to keep ourselves safe and well.
Our Social Target achiever this week was Euan Linton but Orla Rodgers also got a special mention from Mrs Hay in P.E. Well done!
