This week we have been very busy continuing our learning of subtraction within 20 in Numeracy.  We have been learning that take away, find the difference and minus all mean the same thing.  Today we started to look at 2D Shape, understanding different properties and looking for examples of these in our school environment.
In Literacy, we are working on 'upskilling' our writing to make it more interesting by trying to use 'wow' words (adjectives) and connectives.  We are using our class novel to write descriptions of the characters, castles and the daily life of a knight.
We had lots of fun this week as large boxes appeared during Discovery Learning time and they became boats, cars, trains, aeroplanes, dens and even a cinema!  If any parents have any spare large cardboard boxes, please drop them into us as we are very creative with these!
We are really enjoying our project Castles and learning about the different parts of a castle and how they were protected in the past.
In Outdoor Learning, we looked for 2D Shapes in nature and man-made in our environment along with checking if the birds have been enjoying our bird feeder balls we made and hung out last week.  We have certificates to bring home today for participating in the RSPB Big Bird Watch 2022.  Keep looking for these birds at home!
