Another busy week in Primary 2!  We are continuing our work on subtraction within 20, using different methods and strategies.  We particularly enjoy using Numicon to support our calculations with these!  In Literacy, we have concentrated on Capitals, full-stops, finger spaces, connectives and are beginning to look at adjectives to make our writing more interesting.  We described Mr Eejit from our Scots version of 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl and created some artwork using descriptions of him from the book.  These are on display in our classroom,
We have now moved onto our new project of Castles and 'Castle Canmore' is now pride of place in our class, complete with windows and vines.  We have been describing what a knight looked like and how strong they must have been, wearing armour and chainmail made of metal.  We learned they were very important people and worked for the 'Nobles' who paid them and gave them land but it meant they had to fight for them if they had a disagreement with someone!
Yesterday we had a lovely surprise of Mrs Elvin popping in at the end of the day to see everyone, sadly her voice has still not returned but we hope to see (and hear) her very soon!
Today we enjoyed hearing all of the Scottish Poetry at our Reconnector - Well done again to Mara, Sarah, Iseabail and Georgie!  Our Social Target winners for this week were Sarah Allan and Xander McMurray who did very well to celebrate Scottish Culture.  We also had a fun Outdoor Learning afternoon, putting up our bird seed cones around the school and watching for birds coming to sample them.
We finished our week with some fun games with a parachute outdoors and said farewell to our classmate Jenna who is starting at her new school on Monday.  We wish you lots of luck!
