Good afternoon everybody.

I can't believe it's the end of another week but thankfully the weather is so much better. It is always nice to see the sunshine.

We filled in some of our Diary of a Bean and is great to be able to watch the beans growing. We noticed that the ones in the dark are growing much faster than the ones in the hot frame, but they are definitely not very healthy looking, showing that plants don't need sunlight to grow but definitely need it to grow healthily.

The children worked on football skills with Mrs Spencer and she was so impressed with their skills as well as their excellent team work.

Our Big Writing this week was a personal report on our walk to Duloch Woods. The children really enjoyed their day and I am pretty sure they slept well on Wednesday night!  It was a very successful day due to the children being so well behaved and willing to take on the challenges we had set for them. They successfully built dens, made bug hotels, climbed trees, played hide and seek and enjoyed a picnic outdoors. As a little extra treat we stopped at the play park on the way home. It was a long walk but they all did so well and walked safely and at a good pace. I am so proud of you all.

We have made really nice thank you cards to give to Balgownie Mains Farm for our great visit (thank you farmer Maggie) and Mains of Beath Farm who have kindly given us straw for making our scarecrows next Wednesday afternoon. We do have volunteers but it's not too late if you would like to help us. Just message on Seesaw if you would like a fun filled afternoon creating our scarecrows.

In numeracy we have looked at numbers before/after, larger/smaller and 10 more/10 less using number squares to help us.

For art, we created beautiful ladybirds using apples to print the bodies.

Have a lovely, hopefully sunny, weekend.
Miss Shearer
