Good afternoon,

The children are continuing to work on numbers to 100 and we have looked at numbers before/after/in-between and counted in 2's, 5's and 10's. They know that it is much quicker counting in sets rather than individually.

We have planted our butterbeans again so that the children can actually see the different stages a bean will go through to grow healthily. It is fascinating to see nature in action. The children really enjoyed our half day walk to the woods. They really worked well together to find a large selection of mini beasts.(I will be honest and admit that I didn't really like the large slugs they were finding and coming so happily to show me!!)

We used our Big Writing slot to write facts about their favourite creatures from the woods.

We are hoping to get out more now with the better weather for PE so that we can play football and rounders. The children really show great ball control skills this week. I was very impressed.

We have our whole day walk to Duloch Woods next Wednesday 24th May. We will be den building. The children have brought home a letter today asking who would like a school packed lunch. Please can everybody return slips as there is a section asking yes or no. Thank you.

It was very sad to see a much loved teacher retiring on Thursday. Mrs Baxter is a well loved member of the Canmore family and she is going to be greatly missed by children and colleagues alike. We wish her a happy retirement.

Have a great weekend.
Miss Shearer
