Good afternoon,

I hope you have all a great week.

The children are continuing to work on multiplication strategies. We have used the equal sets one this week. They can fined it tricky to remember to start with how many sets then how many are in each set but we will keep practising. We have also been working on our 2x tables this week working on building up our speed and accuracy. This would be a great activity to practise at home too.

The children had fun finding adjectives to describe a variety of things in class. They will use the adjective skills in their written tasks. one of our Drawing Club activities was Free Writing. The children were able to write about anything they liked. We have ranged from dinosaurs to a favourite sister. I look forward to reading them all. Our second task was to retell the story of 'Chicken Licken'. I am so proud of how engaged the children were. They were all very proud of their work. I will upload as soon as I can to let you see their results. We are going to use the Chicken Licken story to create a play for you all to come in to school to watch. It will be nearer the end of term. I will let you know as soon as I have a definite date. They are very excited to get the chance to perform in front of you.

As part of our Farms and Farming topic, we explored where our food comes from. We do have the farm trip confirmed for Wednesday 8th March but are still waiting to here times from them. They are really excited at the thought of meeting calves, horses, chickens and goats.

We were able to plant sunflower seeds on Wednesday as well as cress heads and butter beans. It will be fun to watch them grow and see the different stages of a growing plant.

We have created beautiful pictures of our mums to send to the Courier for Mother's Day. I hope you like them when they are published.

Next Wednesday is an In-service day with Thursday and Friday half term holidays. I hope you have a lovely break when it arrives.

Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Shearer
