Good afternoon everybody.

Where are the weeks going?

We are working on subtraction in Numeracy and are finding out which manipulatives help us learn. Children are choosing between number lines, cubes, Numicon or putting big number in our heads and using fingers to count back.

Our sounds this week are ng or nk. Please complete tasks in homework pack.

We are using pictures as stimulus for our Drawing Club and using the I See, I Think, I Wonder strategy to really get great ideas for our writing. We are trying to extend our sentences to make them more exciting.

There was great excitement on Monday because the children had a visit from a real author. Her name was Christine Hodghton and she is the author of the Archie's Tales series of books. She very kindly read two of her stories and answered lots of questions from the children.

The highlight of the week was definitely the Christmas Fayre. The children worked really hard to produce beautiful face cloth puppies and lovely festive necklaces. It was so nice to see so many of you who were able to attend. Thank you as always for your continued support.

Next week there will be no PE or Outdoor Learning so the children do not need to wear PE clothes. They are allowed to wear Christmas jumpers but these should be worn on top of school uniform. Thank you.

Have a great weekend.
Miss Shearer
