Good afternoon and welcome to Term 2!

With Halloween fast approaching and excitement building with this, we decided to take the opportunity to use this stimulating context as our theme for the week. We have had a Spooktacular time; engaging in many Halloween themed activities, experiences and surprises.

Our first surprise of the week happened on Monday, with the arrival of a parcel addressed to the Primary 1b classroom. Inside, there was a letter from Meg the witch, asking us for our help to look after her cat Mog whilst she planned here annual Halloween party with her friends. We had such a great time with Mog and even helped him to learn his sounds, words and numbers. We will miss Mog now that he has gone back home and hope that he may visit us again sometime soon!

Since then we have had many different highlights in our learning, from potion making on the tuff tray, blood (red food colouring) and slime (green food Colouring) in the water tray, spooky 6 writing in our number work and even a design a pumpkin competition. We would like to take this time to say Well Done to Lena, Teighlor, Rosie and Cara who were our competition winners and whose designs were carved into pumpkins as decorations for our class.

The best highlight was our surprise Halloween Party on Friday afternoon. Everyone looked very scary in their costumes and we enjoyed participating in a range of party games and activities including Pass the Parcel, Musical Statues, Witch, Witch Pumpkin, Musical Bumps as well as decorating a biscuit as our special party snack.
The Party was so much fun and we would like to say a big thank you to Meg and Mog for organising it.

Wishing you all a scary weekend and I am looking forward to hearing about more of your Halloween highlights on Monday.
