Good Afternoon!

With much excitement about our school Halloween disco on Tuesday and Halloween night on Thursday, we took the opportunity to use this stimulating context to learn through our Expressive Arts curriculum.

In Art, we made paper chains out of orange and black paper. We worked together to feed the paper and link it all together to make our chains longer and longer. We asked Mrs McIntosh if we could then use our paper chains to decorate the gym for our Halloween Disco. She thought that this was an excellent idea and we all felt proud of our contribution.

In preparation for the disco, we explored ways to move expressively to some spooky music. We also enjoyed being part of an audience as we watched P1a's dances too.

In Drama, we all became actors, using mime to adopt the role of Winnie the Witch and act out the story, 'Happy Birthday Winnie'.

In Music, we sang spooky songs and used musical instruments to accompany these.

Just a reminder that our P.E days are still a Monday and Friday, and that all children should have full indoor gym clothes on their pegs for the term. Also shared reading folders should be returned only on Tuesdays for the children to choose their next book.

We are looking forward to more busy but fun learning experiences next week.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Miss Yorkston and P1b.
